Computer Lab/Data Access
The data collected on all XRCF instruments is transferred to and stored on a data server in the XRCF. Access to this data is restricted to XRCF users. If you would like access to your data by one of the methods below, contact the director.
Note: USB drives should never be used on facility or instrument computers.
Computer Lab
BI 128 houses a small computer lab. Each computer has APEX3 and SmartLab Studio installed on them.
In addition, there are two computers that can be remotely accessed. These computers also have APEX3 and SmartLab Studio. These computers also have HighScore. Due to the limited number of licenses this can't be installed on the other computer lab computers.
Data Access
In addition to the computers, where data analysis can be done, there are a few ways to access/download the data. Other methods can be added at the request of users (if it is possible).
- The data is uploaded to a Caltech Box folder which can be accessed using the users Caltech Box account. Access to this folder can be granted at the request of the user.
- The data can be downloaded from the data server using SFTP. In order to do this an FTP client (i.e. Filezilla) is required.
